Preserving Memories – T-Shirt Quilt Basics-NE Ohio

T-Shirt Quilts are a fun quilting project and a great way to remember special events like graduations, retirements,  sport activities, etc. In this class you will be given a variety of layout options from which to choose or help in creating  your own layout. You will learn how to prepare and cut the shirts, and how to sew them with or without sashing. We  will discuss quilting and backing options as well. Let’s pull out those T-Shirts and turn them into a fun quilt that can be  used and loved!

No Kit Fee! Pattern is included in the price of the class

Sewing Machines will be generously provided for students from Bernina/ Chestnut Ridge Sewing

Shared Irons, Rotary cutters and mats will be provided.

Cutting Supplies Needed

Rotary cutting mat at least 18” Long rotary ruler -at least 18” if possible

Large Square Rulers -16”, if possible

Scissors to pre-cut t-shirts

Other Supplies Needed

Extra sewing machine needles

Thread for piecing the quilt top

Pins

Scissors

Seam ripper

Pen, pencil and paper

Rotary Cutting Supplies (cutter, mat and rulers) Mats and rulers must be large enough to cut t-shirts

Mat size of at least 18" long should work

Square rulers are helpful (12” or larger), but we can work with rectangular rulers, if needed. The rectangular rulersmust be 18” or longer.
