Join Andrea Hoke in this half day class and learn to sew a sweet zip pouch with an easy zipper installation technique!

Introducing the Trixie Zip Pouch - where charming design meets practicality! Curved Elegance: The Trixie Zip Pouch boasts a unique curved design that not only adds a touch of whimsy but also opens wide to accommodate an amazing array of items. Whether it's sewing notions, cosmetics, or toiletries, this pouch is your chic and versatile companion. SUPPLIES NEEDED

Pattern: You will need to purchase a pdf copy of the Trixie Zip Pouch pattern by Minki Kim, available online from Sewing Illustration:

https://sewingillustration.com/products/trixie-zip-pouch

Fabric & Notions: see pattern

Zipper info: Be sure to select a zipper that can be shortened with scissors or a rotary cutter. Metal zippers or molded plastic parka zippers cannot be shortened. A size #3 dressmaker zipper works well, or you can use a #4.5 byAnnie or #5 zipper by the yard.

Basic Sewing Kit

-Thread in neutral shade to match fabric: I like Aurifil 50 wt for both the quilting and bag construction

-Strong Pins

-Heavy duty fabric shears

-Thread snips

-Seam ripper

Rotary Cutting Supplies

-Rotary cutter

-Acrylic ruler - my favorite size is 4” x 14”

Misc Tools & Notions

-Clover Wonder Clips

-Clover Chaco Liner (white only!) or hera marker (for marking quilting lines)

-Clover Tailor's Awl or stiletto

-Marking pen or pencil

-Manilla file folder to trace pattern

Optional Supplies:

-Machine quilting gloves

-Roxanne Glue Baste It

Additional Notes:

-Please cut your fabrics prior to class following the directions on p. 1 of the pattern. If you are using a directional print, you may want to wait until the day class for me to show you how to make that work.

-If you feel comfortable, feel free to do the walking foot quilting prior to class. I usually quilt a diagonal cross hatch design on my quilt sandwich using a 3.0 stitch length and space my lines ½” to 1” apart. Be sure to use a walking foot or dual feed so that your layers don’t shift.
